Before placing a product on the market, the manufacturer needs the applicable conformity assessment. The product category and the applicable legal provisions determine the available route.

Choose the applicable route
The framework includes internal control, third-party assessment through a notified body and, where specifically available and applicable, a European cybersecurity certification scheme. Important and critical product categories have additional constraints. Do not assume one route from a product label.
Assemble the evidence
Technical documentation supports the assessment. When conformity has been demonstrated through the applicable procedure, the manufacturer draws up an EU declaration of conformity and affixes CE marking according to the Regulation.
